Lughnasadh a.k.a. Lammas
childofthefoxes: Really long post under cut earthmagick: Read More “Lugh is the Celtic Sun God and He rains down upon the crops” Somewhat of a confused idea there. Sun and rain? Usually in rain is something given to thunder gods (and I understand that in his native lands this would be a time of summer rain and storms, unlike the dry Mediterranean climate where I live). This...

Fencing.
sierrataylorcc: You know what i wish? That everyone would accept fencing as a serious olympic sport. I hear way too often that people only want to try fencing so they can stab people or because they like the theatrics of it. Don’t get ne wrong, that part of fencing is amazing, but anyone who does fencing for only those reasons will soon find out that that is not a fraction of real fencing....

I missed out!) I saw it in the theater when I was small. The giant Red Bull...

kinspeak: Y’know, I’m realising that as much as I’ve seen about Elven Kin on sites other than Tumblr, and as often as we get used as an example in posts around here, I don’t actually know that many Elves on Tumblr! If you’re Elven, report in, so I can follow all of you! <3 I’m not Elven exactly of course, but there’s so few of us around in this spectrum (elves-faery-sidhe)...

The True Cost of Handmade →
iamincoherent: direwitch: alisontricot: I recently did my first craft fair.  And at that craft fair, one woman picked up every one of my hats, tried them on, and made a sort of a noise in the back of her throat indicating disgust. Then she muttered, “I don’t really like these hats” before looking at the price tag for one of them and looking at me over her glasses: “Do you really charge this...

The construction of the athletes’ village broke up a community that had been on the site legally since 1972. As athletes settle in to the Olympic Village in East London, a “home away from home” for officials and competitors, some may wonder who lived there before them. The complex now is studded with luxury flats for the 17,000 Olympic athletes and the 4,500 Paralympians who will follow them....

demonofdubstep: Okay, I have like, a legit question. If someone is nonhuman, but in a multiple system, are they otherkin? Like, I’m an alienthing but in headspace I’m just an alienthing, not human-bodied. That’s not otherkin, right? If they are a non-human thing in a human body, that fits the definition of otherkin. Whether they wish to use that label for themselves is something else again.
