Just an experimental thing, following up on Arudem’s neat suggestion about informal gathers. We’ll see how it goes.

Please feel welcome to make suggestions. Registration is required to post a listing as a means of trying to combat trolling. It is a public listing, so there’s a small suggestion to share only a province/ state or city, and leave contact information for more specific locations.

Hrm. It’s true that a directory for this kind of thing is needed, since the one on Otherkin.net seems to be broken (can’t log in to change details) and has out of date entries and really has not been well-used in some time; Jarin is trying to get one going on his AnOtherWiki, too. But I would wish for this to be on a more “neutral” URL than “werelibrary”. Non-animal-folk may not even find it there. I know if such a result appeared in a search I did for “otherkin gathers” that I would not bother to click on it because I would think “oh, that looks like a were/therian site, there aren’t going to be things for people like me there.”

gah. this terminology thing is getting very frustrating. we really do need something to designate the point-ear spectrum so that can be found if that’s what’s wanted. used to was elves and fae were the most common type. now it’s nearly impossible to find anything but animals, it seems.

there should be links and cooperation and friendship between these communities, yes - our situations are similar - but should one really be entirely absorbed into another?

it’s like there’s starting to be “animal-kin privilege”, as absurd as that sounds - being thought of as the default thing meant when the word “otherkin” is used…

As a term for “two-legged point-ears”, maybe faeborn, although I think the presence of “fae” might be a little...

There’s still “faeborn” or “sayuneldi”… I’d go with the former, really.
