* Actually I was just reading the mspaintadventures wiki; I still can’t effing understand the comic. Starting at random points linked to in wiki articles is probably not conducive to that, but anyway I think I got a little scared when Karkat started seeming like an oddly endearing and sympathetic character. (Somewhere around when some other troll(s) went on some kind of killing spree and he was like OH FUCK, NO, NO, KANAYA, GOD FUCKING DAMMIT ERIDAN or something like that?)

I feel like “the brain” (well, the hemispheres of the brain; that comes in halves, not in pairs, unless you are Zaphod Beeblebrox) is too easy of an answer here. Is there something more specific within it (or the nerve system in general) that comes in pairs and is also mostly made of fat? Or am I (ahem) overthinking?
