“When ‘live long and prosper’ means ‘fuck off and die’.”

(don’t remember where that quote came from.)

For those who requested it, the single series prints of each show are now available in my Society6 shop!

Each print is sized to be the same height and width so you can have as many or as few stacked or lined up as you wish.

… As the councillors were preparing to rise and disperse, Spock made the first spontaneous decision of his life. He did not feel entirely comfortable with it, but it felt…right. Even if it was not entirely logical.
“Council, Ministers—I must decline.”

(..)… Spock betrayed not a hint of what he was being accused of displaying. He was as calm and collected as if addressing a group of close friends. “I came with the intention of enrolling, as my father wished. However, your…” he hesitated long enough that no one could fail to get the point, “…insight has convinced me that my destiny lies elsewhere. You have persuaded me that for the foreseeable future at least, my life does not lie in the pursuit of pure academics. Therefore, the only emotion I wish to convey is… gratitude.” He nodded ever so slightly. “Thank you, ministers and councillors, for your consideration. Live long and prosper.
No emotion in those words, not even in the last few. But just a hint, perhaps, of a nonverbal suggestion best exemplified by a distinctively human digital gesture with which those on the Vulcan High Council were not familiar.

Star Trek was an attempt to say that humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but take a special delight in differences in ideas and differences in life forms. […] If we cannot learn to actually enjoy those small differences, to take a positive delight in those small differences between our own kind, here on this planet, then we do not deserve to go out into space and meet the diversity that is almost certainly out there.”

looks like we will not go to space today

Beautiful lady.

Hmm, now I kinda want to see fic or art with the human!Tardis and a human!Enterprise (who of course would have the voice of Majel Barrett-Roddenberry)… anyone else?

I bet Red Dwarf is a dude tho. Not like Holly; I don’t associate him with the ship in quite the way I do the Enterprise computer. Probably someone more scruffy and northern like Lister.

From r/StarTrek

that’d be pretty disturbing to see by surprise, lol.

Extra flavor from the fact we are watching Star Trek right now (DS9).
